July PrayerNews

Be imitators of God, therefore, as dearly loved children and live a life of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.   Ephesians 5 1-2

JULY 2nd – Ardersier and Petty

Pray for the two congregations – that important posts will be filled and that those with the appropriate gifts might be moved by the Lord to take up these important ministries within the congregations. Petition the Lord for us that the big changes earmarked for us in the new Presbytery plan might not dampen our zeal for Jesus but might propel us into His plan for us.  Pray that we keep our eye upon our returning Lord.

Remember the Sunday School (Ardersier) give thanks to God for the children who come week by week to join with us in worship. Give thanks to the Lord for our team of Sunday School teachers who work so very hard in teaching our young people about our Lord.   Pray that those who are involved in our local primary school as classroom assistants, or our minister, who takes occasional assemblies might show the light and love of Jesus to all in the school.  Pray that as Tornagrain (new town) grows and families start to move in, that Petty Church might be able to start their own Sunday School as they seek to reach out to that new community.

Give thanks for the Bible study/prayer meeting that meets in Ardersier Church Hall and for the recent showing of Christianity Explored.  Give thanks also for the commitment of both congregations though membership is not large, a very high percentage of the membership attend our services week by week.

Give thanks for the long history of witness both these churches have had in their communities.  Thank God that on numerous occasions they have been able to join together in worship.  Pray that as we begin to look ahead to becoming a united charge we will see this as a forward step in the mission of Christ in our parishes.

Pray that the people of Petty and Ardersier churches will be used by God to minister His light and grace in our small communities. Pray that we might fearlessly make known the good news of Jesus not just in actions but above all in word, His word.  Pray that He will give us the words to speak a word in season as we go about our daily business. We are praying hard for our villages, please join with us in this prayer.

9th July St Ninians linked with Auldearn and Dalmore

Pray for the minister, elders and office bearers of these two congregations, also the young organist, a sixteen year old boy who plays the organ in St Ninians and Auldearn each week. Give thanks for his commitment in taking on this task.  Pray that God will bless them all and encourage them in the various ministries and responsibilities they have. Auldearn have new elders – pray particularly that all will: “Hold firm to Him and serve Him with all their heart and all their soul” Joshua 22. v 5.  Numbers attending church of late have not been good. Pray that the congregation may be able with God’s help to rebuild attendance once again. There are members who are not able to get out to church because of being unwell, or housebound because of their disability. Pray that they will know the Lords presence with them.  Remember also the retired minister Rev Pat Crow and his wife Gillian.  Pray that the Lord will work amongst the people, bringing encouragement and blessing to them all.
